Wait-List Class/Event kicks other Classes & Events out of Cart

There is an issue occurring with the wait lists. If someone adds some classes or events to their cart and then also chooses to click “join waiting list” for another class or event at the same time they are taken directly to the waiting list form. Here they fill it out and it confirms their spot. However, when they go to their cart to pay for the rest of the classes and events that they chose to register for the items in their cart have disappeared and they have to re-add them. It would be better if the wait-list form showed up on the same page as the personal-information forms for the rest of the classes and events during check out. Even if it is necessary for the wait-listed class or event to just show up as $0.00 on the invoice as a wait-list. That way the customer doesn’t get frustrated by having to search for and re-add classes or events to their cart. The wait-list email should still be sent too.

We have actually decided to disable wait-lists for the summer trimester and going forward, in part because of this issue, but we are hoping it will be able to be resolved.

Hi Naomi,

This is happening because they are finishing their registration and thus closing their session which will remove anything they have in cart.

You could add the ADD TO CART (ESPRESSO_CART_LINK) shortcode to the waitlist event, and even disable the registration form for that event, forcing the customer to add it to the cart.

This would then process alongside the other cart contents.
