Hi
I just installed the Volume discount plug-in, applied some settings and gave it a whirl. And while I think it did try to apply some discounts nothing is actually shown.
If I show all hidden elements (using web developer toolar) there are a load of hidden elements relating to volume discounting but as I mentioned nothing is displayed.
Any ideas?

Hi John,
What settings did you use? E.g. if you have the discount set to “number of registrants” and the threshold figure as 2, did you register 3 people/tickets?

I’ve set it to number of registrants, with a threshold figure 5 and have registered 7 tickets .When I press “refresh total” two spinners appear but only one total is returned, the undiscounted one If you would like you can use the same log-in info I sent the other day.

Yes I still had your login details (we do delete them regularly which is why they may be requested multiple times) and I had a look.
It seems there is a slight restriction in the way the Volume Discount addon works, in that it requires registrants to be selected.
Currently your list (Monday Life Drawing for example) will add numerous events to the cart which is fine and works no problem, but the Volume Discount add on doesnt recognize them as being selected. This is a known issue and has been marked to be investigated.
As such there are two options:
1) change the events to allow group registrations but limit that registration to 1. This will force a dropdown that the user needs to select for each event and will kick in the Volume Discount. Not ideal but workable. For your site you will need to examine the drop down menu code as it isnt displaying correctly (in the theme stylesheet you have the select tags width set to 100% causing the problem).
2) Use a different discount option such as price.

Thanks for that. It works now. I set it to use price as the threshold and Voila! it worked.
One question tho, I assumed that it would be possible to set a number of thresholds i.e. spend over £50 and get 10% off AND spend over £100 get 20% off. But one setting seems to overwrite another even tho I change the threshold value. Have I got that right?

Hi John,
Glad it is working now.
Volume Discounts is still in beta and as such it doesn’t have a wide range of functionality. Right now it is limited to a single discount and threshold so you can have over 100 and get 20% off OR over 50 and get 10% off.
This is one add on we know could become even more useful than it already is but feature dev is on hold until 3.2 is out and stable.

No specifics im afraid, we are shifting focus to 3.2 so sooner rather than later. Ideally this first quarter but seeing as we have been working on it for a year now it may well run over.

On a different matter, I was wondering if you had any area for general feedback that might contribute to event espressos development?
Having worked quite hard to with it, allbeit over a very short time, I have some feedback that I’d be happy to share.
