Hi there We are running eventespresso on one of our sites and something odd happened today when someone tried to purchase a ticket for our event. We implemented a discount code and the user tried to register using the code unsuccessfully twice and on the third try they were presented with a successful registration email. They called because they knew that they should have been charged the price of the ticket, but they were issued a ticket for $0 instead. We walked through the process with the customer and noticed that they weren’t assigned “General Admission” like the other ticket sales had been, they were able to bypass the payment screen, the promotional code wasn’t entered into the database with their attendee recored and the ticket that would have been $45 was sent to them as $0. We walked through the process with them again and each subsequent time they were able to enter the promotional code and saw the discounted ticket price and were prompted for payment. We have not been able to recreate this issue. It sounds similar to the issue we saw on this thread: https://eventespresso.com/topic/some-users-are-bypassing-the-payment-page-and-getting-tickets-help/ We are running WordPress 3.5.1, EventEspresso 3.1.29.1.P, and these add-ons: Event Espresso MultiEvent Registration, EventEspresso Social Media, EventEspresso Ticketing. This is not a new installation, we’ve had it running since December and have had plenty of other sales come through without this glitch. Our registration page can be found at: https://www.smallbizathens.com/registration/ Thanks! |

Hello, I had a look at your site and tried breaking the registration process but couldnt. Out of interest is your promo code in the system in capital letters? You could try updating to the latest version of Event Espresso and see if that helps to resolve the issue, but without knowing what the exact issue is, it is more of a general resolution. |

Hi there, No, this particular promo code was not all capital letters. Should it be? It seems to work (right now) regardless of the case that it’s entered in. We’ve tried mixed case and each try seems to work fine. Like I mentioned before, we haven’t been able to replicate the issue since it happened today. It hasn’t happened before today, so we’re not really sure what caused this particular user to bypass the payment page. We will try upgrading to the newest version of EventEspresso. Thanks! |

Hi, No it shouldnt matter at all, it is just that recently one user had an issue with using capitals in the promo codes but users using lowercase. I just wanted to rule that out as a line of inquiry. Really without more info it will be tough to pinpoint, so I would update (do a backup first as always) and monitor the situation and let us know if it crops up again. |
