Hi, I’m trying to add the upcoming events widget to a custom dynamic sidebar placed in my home page template, but no matter how I try and get it to display it simply won’t work.
I’ve tried using get_sidebar(), dynamic_sidebar(“home_page_events”) – home page events is successfully registered as a dynamic sidebar in functions.php and I can add the widget to it through the dashboard, and by using the_widget(), all to no avail.
Is there any other requirement for the widget to be shown? I’m drawing a blank here. I need to display 4 upcoming events on the home page of my site and this widget seemed like a good place to start but it just refuses to work. Any suggestions?
We are on the latest version of WordPress, and Event Espresso 4.1.9.reg

Turns out these wont work without the_loop being present somewhere on the page (in one form or another). Issue resolved.
