Hello! I downloaded the event-espresso-4-da.mo and the event-espresso-4-da.po from GlotPress and placed them in [subfolder]/wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages.
I have define (‘WPLANG’, ‘da_DK’); in my wp-config.php
But I see no danish in event espresso?
I edited the file .po file to make sure, that strings visible on screen were translate.(only 8% is translated)
Thank you Dean. That worked for some of it.
But I´m realy having a hard time to understand the concept. Compared to other translations I have made.
Are both the .po and .mo files in the [subfolder]/wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages? Because I can rename the .po file there and still have some of the strings showing up translated.
I have now made som translations in GlotPress and placed the .po file but the strings are not changed.
And I can rename the event_espresso-da_DK.po and still have some of the text is translated.
But the changes that are in the new .po file is not there. What to do?
I have cleared my browser cache and refreshed the window.
I’m not sure why they aren’t working from GlotPress but you can use Poedit on the PO file and it will update the Mo file (PO is like human readable, MO is designed for machines).
In fact it may just be that you need to open the PO from GlotPress in Poedit and save it. Some times that will be enough to update the MO file.
Now I got It and it works. Thought I could just edit the .po file on the server without changing the .mo file.
Poedit asked for the translationlanguage, the file from GlotPress are missing “Language: da_DK\n” Don´t know if that is of any importance.
Best Thomas
