I am looking to make away from Tribe Events – Events Expresso 4 looks ideal – I was going to ask about promotional codes, but I see that should be coming in early 2105 So the next one that came to my head was can I remove the ‘show details +’ link from each ticket type, I don’t want our users to drill into the details like that Moving the event page elements around – just a simple matter of editing the single-espresso_events.php? Tickets – these appear to be listed in alphabetical order – not really what I need – is this a fixed limitation? How customisable is the AVAILABLE TICKETS section? Address info is not massively applicable to us – we conduct all our bookings over the web – but the fields appear to be mandatory – is that correct? Finally – we have people worldwide book onto our events – does that mean I need to build the country list manually for every country in the world – assuming I do have to include address info (see above question)? |

Oh and another two Is there an import routine for getting my events out of Tribe and into Expresso? And … How would I be best to handle deposits – our events (photography holidays) typically sell for thousands of pounds and we require a 25% deposit to hold a place – can expresso cope with that or would we be best putting that in the payment instructions |

Hi, The show details link doesn’t have an option to remove, but can be hidden with CSS. Page elements does require a template edit yes, you can use some handy template tags to get it looking like you want it to https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-themes-templates/ Tickets should be displayed in creation order, and you can use drag and drop within the event editor to reorder them. The available tickets section can be modified, but again would require code edits, and these may require being updated with every plugin update. Address info is not mandatory, the only mandatory questions are First Name, Last Name and Email. Question groups (such as the Address question group, can be enabled/disabled on a per event basis and for Primary or Additional attendees via the event editor. We have some country packs that can be installed that cover a wide range of countries, but you may need to create some if they are not already there. https://github.com/eventespresso/ee-packs-states-provinces Import wise, not currently. EE4 is quite complex, so exporting events and reimporting them is fine, and you can use an initial export to then import new events but it is not that user friendly. It is something we will be looking at in the future. There’s no formal way to handle partial payments fromt he front end, in that the customer cannot use PayPal for instance but only pay for 25% unless you specifically create a ticket at that price range. However, if they for instance rang up and paid over the phone or gave you cash, then you could apply that partial payment in the admin and it will know this and state to the customer that a payment has been applied when they go to pay for the rest. This is something that again we are hopefully looking to expand on in the future. |
