Hi! I’m having the Problem, that when i upload the sample.xls i always get the error: My Hosting provider already gave me the maximum of memory size and it still dosen’t work. Someone knows how to fix this? I have instaled the latest Version of Event Espresso and the seating chart extension. |
Hello Rahel, How much memory did the host provide? Did you or they update your wp-config.php accordingly? http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP |
I set it to define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’); in my wp_config. I instaled also a plugin to show the use of the memory size and it seams to be ok. |
Hi, I have not been able to recreate this on a test server (3.1.27 and seating chart and then with all addons activated.) Therefore I would say it is highly possible that another plugin is causing the issue, as the server is literally running out of its allocated memory (memory leak). Try deactivating your plugins except Event Espresso and add ons and see if that works. |
I deactivated all other plugins but it still dosent work. Could it be that i’m having a failure in my .xls? |
Sometimes the .xls format doesn’t work on some servers. Try saving it as a .csv file, then upload that. |

That was the first thing i tried when the problem came up und it dosen’t make any difference. |
And by the way: it is so strage, that the problem also happens if i use the sample.xls form event espresso itselfe. |
Ya, this definitely sounds like a memory issue. I use Hostgator for my test site and have uploaded over 1,000 seats without a problem. It could also be an issue with missing PHP libraries that are used to parse the data. Just thought of something else. What version of PHP and MySQL are installed on your server? Who is the hosting company (please don’t say Godaddy)? |

September 21, 2012 at 12:34 am What version of PHP and MySQL are installed on your server? Do you have access to the error logs? It would be good to see if there are any errors. There might be an error log in your wp-admin directory that might have some information. If you don’t have access to the error logs, you may want to get your hosting company involved and tell them what troubles you are having. They may be able to help track down the problem and find a solution. Last resort would be to try importing the csv file directly into your database using PHPMyAdmin. That is if your version of PHPMyAdmin and MySQL support this scenario. If not, then it might be time to move to a different host that has up to date hosting technology. |
