I too am getting the same error message and following / checking the suggestions in this thread has not resolved the issue on the website I am working on. https://www.sapaa.net/registration-checkout/?step=attendee_information any suggestions on how to correct the issue is very much appreciated.
I have also disabled all of the plugins except for the Event Espresso plugins and the WordPress HTTPS plugin which I’m assuming is needed for SSL and I still get the following error message.
An error has occurred:
First Name is a required value.
EE_SPCO_Reg_Step_Attendee_Information – _verify_critical_attendee_details_are_set_and_validate_email – 884
Although, I am able to successfully register after I log into the site. But, we do not want to force anyone to create an account and then log in before they can register for an open event. I appreciate any input and guidance I can get.
I split this post off so as not to get too confused with the original poster.
Can you try installing the Theme Test Drive plugin, and testing your site with a default theme (e.g. Twenty Fifteen), as your theme currently has a JavaScript error and I want to rule that out before proceeding.
Using the above plugin allows you, the admin, to see the site with a different theme, but does not affect your visitors.
Thank you for your quick reply. I installed the Theme Test Drive plugin and configured it to use the default theme as you’ve suggested. The challenge is that the registration works while I’m logged in, it just doesn’t work without logging in first. How do I check the registration while I’m logged out with the Theme Test Drive plugin?
Changing the theme resolved the issue. Thank you very much for your help and quick response.
