Looking to upgrade from the free version for our local war-games club, which is planning on putting on a public show at which we’d like to sell tickets in advance, and use a barcode scanner to check folks in. Payment by Paypal, and otherwise, don’t think we need much in the way of other fancy features.
What’s the best deal to do this? Don’t care if its EE3 or 4, and it’s a single site.
EE3 Ticketing uses QR codes, so needs a smart phone and internet connection.
EE4 Ticketing is still in beta, and requires a beta version of EE4 (4.5.0+) and uses bar codes so a bar code scanner is needed.
Please note on multisite, EE needs to be installed on a single site, not network activated.
Personally I would use EE4 as it is more cutting edge, but as the ticketing side of things are still in beta there may be bugs and issues, which might not be suitable for a live site.
