Hi, I run this website: http://lacocheracabaret.com for a place providing concerts, theatre, classes… They want to sell tickets online. The website is built with WP 3.8 and a theme called MUSE (with CPTs). I just want to ask some questions (sorry if they are many) in order to know if EE3 suits my needs. I say EE3, because I surely need the Seating Chart Add-on, currently not available for. 1- In EE3, can I use the Event CPT in my theme, with the events already created and the future ones? Thanks in advance and have a good day. Pablo |

Hi Pablo, Thanks for your interest in Event Espresso.
Yes and no. EE3 does not use CPT’s by default so you can use the themes CPT for the previous events. It can be set up to create additional Event CPT’s and create them when an event is made. The problem you may experience is if they both use the same slug they will conflict. Also you cannot tell EE to use another custom post type. It simply uses it’s own. For future reference EE4 uses CPT’s by default.
This may be possible though the tickets are produced on A4 size paper. I am not sure if the printer could be configured to ignore this. Really, EE is designed for online registration rather than box office style registration, but many customers have used it like that.
The seating chart will only display seats though it could be set up in a table like arrangement, most people would simply use a block of six (or whatever number) squares to denote a table of six.
You could just use the front end, like a customer would, so there would be no permissions required.
The latest Po/Mo files are here https://github.com/eventespresso/languages We also have a Glotpress set up here http://translate.eventespresso.com/projects/event-espresso And you can register as a translator here https://eventespresso.com/features/languages/#form
Of course, EE is an online event registration system. If you have any other questions or need clarification, please let me know. |
