Do you have the ability to allow a website visitor to register for an event or purchase tickets without being registered or logged in to WordPress?
Most of our customers disable registration and the only people who login are those who do website maintenance.
If you do, would I be correct that you collect and record the ticket RSVP/Sales, but that the customer would not have the ability to cancel their tickets online?
No, registrants do not have to be logged into WP first.
However, you can set it up in such a way as to create a login for the registrant (if they are not already a WP user), so that they can login later and see their registrations.
This is a fairly well established set-up in EE3. In EE4, I know we have helped a customer set up most of that, but I don’t think there is yet a mechanism for the customer to log back in and cancel a registration. They would still need to email the admin, and the admin go into the back-end and cancel it.
Since EE4 was rewritten from scratch, we have been having to slowly adding functionality to it that was present in EE3. All of EE3’s features will eventually get ported over to EE4, it is just a matter of development time.
