Problem with recurring events and having to register more than once

I’ve added an event that spans 3 weeks and is on every Wednesday, it’s been set as a recurring event. The user ideally would to be able to register once and have it mark them as registered/an attendee for each Wednesday.

The problem I’m running into is that everything seems to be set up properly but if someone registers for one of the three classes, it only registers them for the one class.

Is there a setting that I’m missing or is this not possible?

Hello Gabriele,

The Recurring Event Manager is for creating individual events that run over a period of time. Think of it as a time saver for entering large numbers of the same event.

So if you create an event that recurs 3 times, you have 3 separate events.

There are two ways to set up what you are after, but both will only register the user once.

1) Have one event that spans the full 3 week period and states the events run every Wed, though this will look a little strange on your calendar if you use it, as it will cover those 3 weeks, not just the wednesdays.

2) Set up the recurring events, but edit two of them to change the option Alternate Registration Page (optional) to the original events registration page. This will send anyone that tries to sign up on an event mid way through (the second wednesday for example) to the correct registration page. This can work very well on short period recurring events, as it keeps the users registered on one event only, though longer period ones you may find this too much manual work.
