We recently started using the Authorize.Net AIM payment gateway for EE. We use EE to reserve picnic shelters in our parks. We ran into a situation where even though a payment transaction was declined by Authorize.Net because the credit card information was never entered, the payment status shows as Completed/Paid and the number of available shelters is decreased by 1 as though a valid transaction was completed. If we look at the attendees screen in the EE dashboard, we see the green check mark for a paid/completed transaction. However, if we then look at the registration details, the status reads “complete”, but the transaction id and paid date are blank (“N/A”) and the amount paid is “$0.00”. The transaction response code was 3 and the subresponse code was 2.
Our default payment status is set to “incomplete”.
We also did a transaction and used an invalid credit card number – so this time we entered a cc number, but it was a bad one. This time, the payment status shows as “Payment Declined” and the shelter remains available for that day. The response code is 3 and the subresponse code is 1.
What would be causing the first scenario – not entering any credit card into – to display as a completed/paid transaction? And how do we fix this?
Thanks in advance for your help
