I’ve encountered a variety of issues resulting from customers hitting “enter” during the registration process before clicking “submit”.
In this question/suggestion, I am referring to the behavior that when they hit “enter”, whatever information they have filled in is posted to a registration with an “incomplete” payment status. They then go “back” to finish their registration form and after they click “submit”, there are 2 registrations – 1 complete and 1 incomplete. This is resulting in sometimes having more attendees arrive than what we expect based on completed registrations. Customers don’t feel they should have to work that hard to ensure their registrations are correct or don’t recognize the issue happened.
I am at 3.1.22P (waiting for 3.2 to upgrade to due some customization I’ve done to minimize this issue with groupon code use).
Is there a way to prevent this in 3.2?
If it hasn’t been addressed, I would suggest a workflow enhancement so that a registration is only posted to the event after the “confirm registration” step is complete, perhaps through the use of temporary tables or other simple logic changes.
Thanks for your feedback. Our developers have created a much better registration system in 3.2. So this will no longer be an issue in 3.2. In fact, I think we are very close to releasing a beta (finally). We hit quite a few snags along the way, but we have been working through them as best we can.
As always thanks for the prompt reply and great support.
We’ve been very please with Event Espresso and look forward to 3.2!
Good luck,
Bill
