Hi I’m getting the famous Nothing in your Event Queue

This is a migration from V3 to V4. However, I selected no to not migrate data.

I then created a new event but no one can register for an event whether or not they are logged in. Does not work on Firefox, Chrome & IE

Please see the following link and try it

Hi,

I registered for the event with no issue (I registered under TEST TEST). As such it might simply be a caching issue – have you cleared your browser/s cache? And if you have a caching plugin have you cleared that?

Hi Dean,

Thanks for your reply.

There are no caching plugins.

I’ve tested it on multiple computers (1 of each was never on the site) and it’s still like that.

Browsers have had their cache cleared.

The only device the registration page works on without this error message is on the iPad.

OK, well I retested in Chrome, Firefox and IE and it worked fine in all.

What sort of server are you using (Apache, IIS?) and who’s the host please?

Hi Jon,

I did some digging and clarified your server if not your host. It’s Apache so that’s a good thing.

Several of the team members from various countries have tested the site as well and have had no issues.

I know that you said “I’ve tested it on multiple computers (1 of each was never on the site) and it’s still like that.” but can I ask were all of these at the same locale?

Is it possible to test again from your end, but perhaps with a different computer that’s outside of your standard ones? The reason I ask is that we cannot see any issues, and this does point to the possibility that it is an issue more local to you.

Dear Dean,

Thank you very much to you and your team for trying.

What I realised was, people not in the office were getting to the registration page.

So I tried the same computers in the office but used my iPhone to Tether. It worked!

It does mean however, that there is some sort of an IP based lock somewhere. How do I clear that?

I’ve cleared all WordPress transients but they do not work.

Hi Jon,

Honestly I am not sure, there isn’t anything in EE that would block an IP address.

Do you have any plugins on the site that block by IP or location? Have you contacted your host to discuss the issue?

Hello,

I deactivated all plugins and set the theme to TwentyFourteen.

It’s still not working unless I venture out of my office’s IP.

This is a server I run at DigitalOcean and it’s got bare LAMP running and has no caching systems installed.

I even restarted Apache just to test.

I’m noticing that the ‘Register’ button that sends data via POST takes much longer to process when it leads to a registration form.

When it doesn’t however, it is actually quite instant.

Is there anything special going on besides the usual POST process on between the Event Details & Registration form?

Hi,

“Is there anything special going on besides the usual POST process on between the Event Details & Registration form?”

There might be, as the plugin will often do checks and grab data behind the scenes but I don’t think it has a bearing on the issue at hand.

This issue is obviously highly localised to you, making it something that we will struggle to pinpoint (plus we haven’t seen this particular issue before, where it fails to work on a specific network/IP).

It must be a setting somewhere (server, proxy, firewall, etc), as outside of that system it works flawlessly.

As mentioned if you haven’t spoken to Digital Ocean, it might be worth getting in touch, they will have a better understanding of the server hardware if the issue lies there.
