I’ve done a search but most of the results seem to be inside plugin forus, so of course I can’t see the answers. Here’s what we want to do.
There is a yearly training session, which runs over 2 weeks. Each day has multiple sessions.
What we need to do is limit the number of people who can register for each session.
As it’s for an Intranet, we don’t need to collect any information from the user, they just need to select which date they are going to attend.
So obviously we need the WP User Integration. But I’ve read over all the add-ons and forums posts I can see, and haven’t been able to figure out if the functionality we require is available with EE. Could someone please advise if it is definitely something that can be done?
If you use EE3, this can be done by creating an event for each session.
In EE4 you can either create an event for each session of have it as a single event and use the different tickets and datetimes to manage it.
EE4 allows capacity to be set on a ticket basis, but EE3 only allows capacity on a per event basis, not ticket.
As it’s for an Intranet, we don’t need to collect any information from the user, they just need to select which date they are going to attend.
The registrant will always need to provide a name and email as a minimum for each event they register for, it’s part of the way the plugin works.
With EE3 you can use the WP User Integration to autofill that information at least.
WP User Integration is only available for EE3 currently.
I hope that helps, but if you need further clarification just let me know.
