Hi,

Looking for some advice.

1) Is there anyway to limit the number of children on a course e.g. only 2 children per adult booking?

2) Is there anyway to setup a course that runs only on Saturdays for a block of 5 Saturdays e.g. 11th, 18th, 25th July, 1st, 8th Aug.

Thanks,

Elaine

Hi Elaine,

Based on your licence type, I am assuming this is for EE3.

1) This isn’t possible in EE3. Even in EE4, it’s not 100% possible – you could limit the number of that ticket type purchased in one registration, but not dependant on another ticket type (limits can’t change dynamically).

2) In EE3 you would need to create individual events for that – the Recurring Event Manager is very useful in this situation as you enter the date structure and it generates those events for you. The extra dates past the first can be linked to the first event using the Alternative Registration Page (optional) option, so only one event will take the registrations.
EE4 handles this more elegantly as multiple datetimes can be added to a single event.

Hi Dean,

Thanks for your help/answers.

How easy is it to upgrade from EE3 to EE4 – is there any documentation for the upgrade path?

Thanks,

Elaine

Hi,

It’s quite easy:

First, back up your site! Especially the database!

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-back-up-your-site/

(This is important. There’s no way to migrate from EE4 to EE3 except by using a saved backup of the site with EE3 on it.)

After that, de-activate EE3 and any addons.

Install EE4 and activate it

Follow the on screen prompts to migrate from EE3 to EE4.

Check your site to make sure everything transferred correctly.

If everything is in order delete the EE3 plugins.

Please note that not all addons have been ported to EE4 so make sure that any needed addons are available for EE4 before migrating.
