I have set up EE and received 8 registrations and payments, all good !! then i start getting the following email from Paypal. https://www.zulu1militarysimulation.com/?page_id=161&id=11&r_id=3-52e8984b2a2a4&event_id=3&attendee_action=post_payment&form_action=payment&type=paypal If you do not recognize this URL, you may be using a service provider that is using IPN on your behalf. Please contact your service provider with the above information. If this problem continues, IPNs may be disabled for your account. Now i have investigated via the blogs the potential fixes but so far nothing has helped. i have the simple page template but not so sure how or where to upload. Now i’m finding registration on ee overview but no payment in paypal before i approach registrant i wish to exhaust all possible issues my end. would appreciate some insight thanks guys |

Hi, Have you worked through this document to troubleshoot the issues? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-set-up-paypal-ipn/ |
|
dean Yup, paypal ipn is set correctly and enabled it is a verified business account. All the pages are set and viewable, no ssl cert on site – spent two hours with hosting co trouble shooting to no avail. I have downloaded the simlified page but it will not upload, in fairness i may not be doing correctly i am a novice at this – reminds me everyday why i chose engineering over software!!;) |
Hi Paul, It looks like PayPal is trying to send the Instant Payment Notifications to an SSL secured page, hence the |

Paul, Just curious. What version of Event Espresso do you have installed? |

Version 3.1.36.4.P |
Paul, Can you please check your Event Espresso > Gateways > PayPal Settings and make sure the “Force HTTPS on Return URL” is unchecked? Screenshot: http://www.screencast.com/t/QvfTBw0knN |

oh nice one it was checked!! – you can’t believe how many times i’ve checked that page over and over yet i missed it. i hope that it works. I’m just trying to re send a previously failed IPN to see if that’s sorted it. |

seth This is what appears in the transaction page that is part of my site. An error occurred. No ID or an invalid ID was supplied. |
It might be resending the same URL, since that is what was stored in the PayPal site when the transaction was placed. Does that make sense? So you might want to try testing a new transaction. |

|
ok that makes sense!! – just checked the details and you’re right i’ll work on it more tomorrow to ensure all would be good. Anything else i should check or change? |
Not that I can think of off-hand. Please let us know what you find out. |

Then i got the IPN failure emails from them, played around abit to no avail, i had one booking but no payment received, we spoke and changed a few things…tested myself on sandbox seemed all good went through ok. I have had one booking today show on the EE but no payment received at paypal!?!? |

Do you have access to your apache logs? Mine is in /var/log/apache2/access.log but your’s might be in a different place. It might help to see if you can follow the url trail that a particular user is going through, From the registration page to the confirmation page to the payment page, and then their return from paypal to the thank you page and the ipn message coming in to the transactions page. |
|
ok since posting i have managed to contact the two registrants and it transpires they did not pay yet!! |
|
Glad that everything is in order. Am I ok to mark this thread as resolved? |
