If I have an event that can hold 40 people, EE4 will continue selling tickets until all tickets are paid for. Payment Pending registrations will not reserve seats. This has caused some events to oversell.
If someone registers but doesn’t pay, then calls to tell me they plan to pay at the event, I have to go into the event admin and change the max number of available tickets to 39. I can’t just approve the reservation because it changes it to Paid.
I would like to approve the registration in a way that it still shows as Payment Pending and also reserves a seat. How can I do that?
I do not want payment pending reservations to reserve seats by default.
If it matters, we do not use the Event Check-In feature. We export a CSV and have a printout at the event. The categories that show up on our list are “payment pending” and “approved”.
In EE4 registrations and transactions are separate. As such you can set the event to Approve the attendees (which will then reduce the available capacity) and you can use the transaction status on the CSV to determine who has and who has not paid.
