I’m looking for a system where users can book/hire rooms to hold events, and users can then book tickets to those events, is this possible with event espresso?

Hi Adam,
It is possible but it also depends on how you want to do it.
How I would do it is like this.
Have the rooms set up as Venues in Event Espresso. A venue can be attached to an event so people would know where to go.
Have events set up for the rooms/venues availability. This can be made easier with the Recurring Event Manager (it basically makes duplicate events spread out over a set period of time).
Customers would then then register for a room event in order to book it (registration can be limited to 1).
After that you would need to make a decision. DO you set up the event for that room for the customer or do you get them to set it up?
If the former, then thats more secure and easy but manual work.
If the latter then you would need to have that customer register on the site as a WordPress user via a membership plugin such as S2, and limit their membership term so that after X time they can’t do anything.
Then with Roles and Permissions Pro (roles and permissions basic required) you can give them the ability to create events.
Even better, with a soon to be released add on plugin they can do this from the front end.
The only issues I can see is there is no way to automatically add the correct venue or limit numbers of events they can create, which is why the manual way may still be preferable.
I would be tempted to up the price a little and sell the “we will set the event registration process up for you” service.
