Hello, we have printed out our tickets and logged into our account on the Event Espresso App however, our event is not appearing so we can not scan the ticket barcode. Could you please tell me why our event is not appearing?

Also, if a customer purchases 10 tickets, are there 10 different tickets with different codes printed? Or is there only 1 ticket and everyone must arrive at the same time to enter the event?

Looking forward to your reply,
Marissa

Hello Alicia,

Have you checked the top menu (Today, Upcoming and Past) to see if its in there? If not, can you advise if its the Android or iPhone app (i was using Android). I may need you login details to your site to check some things but lets get those questions answered first.

Regarding multiple tickets. No everyone does not need to arrive at the same time, the person who ordered can print it off 10 times and hand them out. When the QR code has been scanned 10 times it rejects the subsequent tickets.

Dear Dean,

Do you have a private email address I could send you login details please? We need this working today so if you could reply to this email asap I would really appreciate it.

Kind regards,
Marissa

Also to answer your questions we did try the top menu and there were no events in any of them (Today, Upcoming and Past). And we are using it on an iPhone.

We would like to send a newsletter out tomorrow (Australian time) to begin selling tickets. Unfortunately the time difference is making it very difficult for us to get anything done as we need to wait 24 hours to hear back from your support team. I’m also not comfortable sending our login details on a forum that is open for others to see.

Can you please (a) send us a private email that we can forward our login details to and (b) let us know if we begin selling tickets tomorrow without having the App side of things working will this effect our event and will the tickets still scan if we resolve this issue further down the track?

Tickets to this event need to go on sale asap and we have already been set back a couple of days due to the time difference. I need to send this newsletter out today I just want to confirm that if we were to start selling tickets immediately and worry about fixing the App and scan functionality at a later date will the customers tickets and barcodes still scan?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Alicia

Hi Alicia,

Can you please let us know what the problem was? If you need to, you can have your developer email us at support@eventespresso.com.

Thanks!

Alicia,

My apologies for not getting back to you sooner.

For future reference you can send login details securely by using our contact form https://eventespresso.com/contact/

Choose the “I am sending login info as requested” option and fill out the form

Again for reference, adding the QR codes and having the event running but the App not working isn’t a problem. Once the app works it pulls the data from the QR code on scan.

Only issue is obviously the manual work of checking the ticket is valid etc whilst the app isn’t working.

Really glad that you got the issue sorted. What was the problem.

Again apologies that I couldnt respond in time. I am actually in Europe so response time from me should be a little quicker than other support staff, though if a developer is needed they still run USA time.

Dear Dean,

Thank you for your reply. Our question now is, can we integrate the Volume Discount plugin with the Promotion Coupon option? We need Event Espresso to allow discounts to be applied to group bookings (Volume Discount Addon) as well as have an area for a Promotional Code to be entered.

Is it possible to integrate the two in one transaction?

Kind regards,
Marissa

Hi Alicia,

Sorry I couldn’t back to you on the other thread.

You will need to edit the event-espresso/templates/shopping_cart.php and un-comment the following code.

Remove the comments around this block of code:

<?php /*?><div id="event_espresso_coupon_wrapper" class="clearfix event-data-display">
            <label class="coupon-code" for="event_espresso_coupon_code">
                <?php _e( 'Enter Coupon Code ', 'event_espresso' ); ?>
            </label>
            <input onkeydown="if(event.keyCode==13) {document.getElementById('event_espresso_refresh_total').focus(); return false;}" type="text" name="event_espresso_coupon_code" id ="event_espresso_coupon_code" value="<?php echo $_SESSION['espresso_session']['coupon_code']; ?>"/>
        </div><?php */?>

So it should look exactly like this:

<div id="event_espresso_coupon_wrapper" class="clearfix event-data-display">
            <label class="coupon-code" for="event_espresso_coupon_code">
                <?php _e( 'Enter Coupon Code ', 'event_espresso' ); ?>
            </label>
            <input onkeydown="if(event.keyCode==13) {document.getElementById('event_espresso_refresh_total').focus(); return false;}" type="text" name="event_espresso_coupon_code" id ="event_espresso_coupon_code" value="<?php echo $_SESSION['espresso_session']['coupon_code']; ?>"/>
        </div>

I have been helping a local university hockey league build their season ticketing and registration system. We set up a similar system.

Here is an example of this working:
http://universityofutahhockey.com/fans/tickets/

They also have a page that redirects you to the shopping cart automatically:
