I´m considering using event espresso to move from several meetup.com meetups to one central community site.
We are a non profit organisation hosting workshops in business modelling http://www.businessModelUserGroup.com
We have used meetup to organize events in 4 cities in Norway. This sort of works, but people in one city does not want to have invitations to another city (some do and some dont).
meetup.com is a total mess in this matter- here one meetup group is one city and no segmentation is possible.
It gets worse when we expanded to other countries.
We need a system that enables us to arrange meetings in different cities/countries and have all users in one single database.
I think Event Espresso would be an excellent choice for you, but there are several ways you can try it out for yourself. There is the free version hosted on wordpress.org, but that has many of the premium features removed. There is a test drive available of the full version, which you can try out by filling out the form here.
