Hello there, The basic structure of the website should be something similar but more minimal and clean than wantickets.com, including the basic features for list events and sell tickets. I already did a research among the various plugins and I had made my own idea, but I prefer to get some different suggestions, before choose the better way. So, please review everything and give me your detailed project and ideas. WEBSITE MAIN FEATURES: EVENTS/VENUE MANAGEMENT FEATURES: EVENTS MANAGEMENT WIDGETS: TICKETING FEATURES: RSVP FEATURES: OTHER FEATURES: Please give me your advice about your plugin. Kind regards, |

Hi, Thanks for your interest in Event Espresso. We currently have two main versions of the plugin EE3 and EE4. You should check out our free Test Drive for EE4 over at http://demoee.org. Some features are available in both plugins, some in only one version so I will mark the answers appropriately. A full list of the differences between EE4 and EE3 can be found here: https://eventespresso.com/differences-ee4-ee3/
EE is Wp 4.1 ready and uses some HTML5 and CSS3, though we try to keep the structure as basic as possible and use theme styles (EE4) where possible.
EE4 uses custom post types and taxonomies for events allowing custom permalinks, EE3 does not. There is a search system (shortcode) in EE3 but one is not currently available for EE4. Geolocation is not currently possible in either plugin, though EE3 has an addon called the Vector Maps addon that uses the venue address to provide a broad level location (e.g. by US State). Venue managing is available in both plugins. Recurring events are currently only available in EE3.
Calendar addons are available for both versions, same thing with upcoming events. Related, popular and featured events are not available, though with EE4, you could in theory use an outside plugin such as YARPP as the events are custom post types.
All of the above are available in EE3 when using appropriate addons (e.g. the Ticketing addon). EE4 can almost provide all of them. Right now promo codes are not available for it but we are working on it. Tickets and scanning can be done but not via mobile phones only via bar code scanners.
Ticketless events – I assume you mean simply registering interest rather than actually registering for the event? If so this is not possible. Group registrations are allowed. Registration codes are always generated for attendees, but I think you mean something different. Can you explain this a bit more please? Attendee lists can be generated, and exported to CSV, or in EE3 you can display them via a shortcode. They cannot be scheduled and automatically mailed.
The plugin is translatable and we have tried to make it as easy as possible for WPML but we cannot currently guarantee WPML support. Venues can show google maps. There is some basic social media support yes, EE4 is better for this as it uses custom post types. Import/export is available yes. |
