I am working with this WordPress theme -Espresso. The link is below, I would like the events to display the way they do in this link below. |
|
Once you go onto that link, you would go to the ‘events’ tab and ‘list’ view |

Hi Eric, It’s hard to say without seeing a copy of the theme as we don’t know how these events are created (are they just normal posts with a category? Are they a custom post type created by the theme? Something else?). With that in mind, with 3.1 you can create Posts for the events or custom post types for the events and potentially use those within the theme. 4.0 uses true Custom Post types for the events so perhaps it will be easier. However this is all dependant on how the theme is set up – for instance if it has it’s own in built custom post type called events it might clash with the plugin. |

Hi Dean, The Events Calendar is a plugin by Modern Tribe. That is what is generating these event listings down the page. It’s not normal posts. It came with the theme. I am assuming this could a clash? Where is good instruction on creating Posts for the events or custom post types for the events and potentially use those within the theme. Is 4.0 out yet? or 3.1 for now? |

Maybe there are some good examples of how people have listed and displayed there events, I could see those and then design the look from there… |

Hi Eric, We generally don’t recommend running more than one event plugin at the same time, often they use similar terminology for things like custom post types that can cause clashes. Here is the documentation for posts/custom post types in 3.1 https://eventespresso.com/wiki/add-new-event/#create-post 4.0 is due to be released into in public beta via the Pre Release channel this week! Please note though that neither EE3 or EE4 may work in conjunction with the Events Calendar plugin as it itself is generating it’s own custom post types. |
