I am trying to set up a registration system for an after school program that runs classes (recurring events) and multiple weeklong camps during the summer.
I am completely new to EE and am using EE3 3.1.36 as EE4 doesn’t provide functionality allowing users to register to multiple events at once (if that isn’t the case then please let me know).

I would like to customize the display of the camps so that I have a list of all my camp descriptions and a register now button. Is there a shortcode I can use to pull out a short event descriptions only? Does the shortcode allow me to specify a timeframe or use categories as a way of restricting the information I am going to be looking at (so I can separate my camps from my classes?)

So my camp page would look like
Camp A
<short Description> REGISTER NOW
Camp B
<Short Description> REGISTER NOW

My classes page
<Class A> REGISTER NOW etc…

Thank you!

Hi,

No EE4 does not yet allow for multiple event registration, that is something we are working on.

Regarding your needs, what you could use is the [EVENT_LIST] shortcode (https://eventespresso.com/wiki/shortcodes-template-variables/#event-list)

This will allow you to display events on a per category basis.

Regarding short descriptions, you could set this in the Template Settings page (“Display short descriptions in the event listings?”) and use the More tag option within the description.

Alternatively you could try something like the Calendar Table addon https://eventespresso.com/wiki/events-calendar-table-template-add-on/ (the More tag would still be needed to reduce the description size).
