At our production site http://www.cele.si/new i managed to show Events from Event Espresso in our Newsmag theme with Visual Composer.

Everything shows and works well, except i cannot filter Events by Events categories, cause they are not displayed in ajax dropdown in VC.

Would someone be so kind and explain me how to get EE4 categories to show in ajax dropdown, so i will be able to filter Events.

As you can see no, there are all the same events on frontpage.

Thank you very much for your help!

Hi,

Did you add the events via a shortcode? e.g. [ESPRESSO_EVENTS]

If so, have you tried using [ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=”XXXXXX”], where XXXXXX is the slug of the category you wish to display.

No, I’m showing them with help of Visual Composer, where i filter post type. Without categories filter for now, can’t get it to work 🙂

Hi,

OK, so this is not as a result of Event Espresso. My guess is that while you can set the post type (and you have set it correctly), it doesn’t look like you can set a custom taxonomy. The EE event categories are not categories, they are a custom taxonomy. As such the category filter will likely not work unless there is a way to use custom taxonomies.

You may wish to refer to the Visual Composer support team for advice regarding that.
