Hi guys, I’m having real trouble getting my head around EE4. I have created a site and want the venues page to be a list of the venues, categorised by county, and to include a list of dates that events will be running at that venue. http://ee.stagebe.co.uk/venues/ Where do I even begin to modify it to do this? I would have thought it is standard features I am after but I can’t work it out. Any help appreciated. Simon. |

Could anybody recommend a freelancer who could sell me a few hours of their time? This job is dragging on and I’m unable to get my head around EE. What we need must be very quick for somebody in the know? Many thanks. |

I have tried the only recommended dev in the UK and he’s unable to help at this time as EE4 is so new. If anybody could help with the request in the original post it would be much appreciated. I have put my faith in this plugin to provide the needed service to my customer but the documentation just isn’t clear about how to modify these templates. If somebody could just answer this, I can work the rest out: 1) What do I edit to change the venues page to show just titles of venue rather than the whole blurb (which makes for a very large page) 2) Where do I find a list of EE functions / shortcodes that can be injected into the PHP template? such as adding a list of events at the specific venue Please help me guys, I want to use this plugin but am at a loss. |

Hi Simon, Have you renewed you support licence under a different account? If so please log into that account and respond from there. If not please look to renew your support licence. Regarding your issue, ideally you will need to have a developer look at this for you. If you wanted to attempt it yourself I would suggest looking at creating a child theme, you can look at the example child theme supplied in the plugin /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/templates/Espresso_Arabica_2014 Where I would start is by modifying the archive-espresso_venues.php to target a new loop-espresso_events-xxx.php where xxx is a name, I used wibble for mine, so loop-espresso_events-wibble.php In the loop-espresso_events-wibble.php you need to modify it so it looks for a new content and then duplicate the content-espresso_venues.php and rename it content-espresso_venues-wibble.php In that file you can then comment out the default stuff and add in template tags http://take.ms/xPn6z Here is a list of EE4 template tags https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-themes-templates/ There are probably easier ways to do this, and probably easier ways to explain it, but I hope that it makes some sense and can get you started. |
