I received the below email from EE a couple days ago. I currently hold Event Registration Software for WordPress (EE3P). I’m wondering what happens to my site if I let this expire? Will EE still run? The below email says that when I renew I will continue to receive support and software updates. However, I have not been able to download any updates as of yet and have not needed support. If I renew what am I getting? If I do not renew what will happen? I was under the impression that I would not need to renew each year to use EE.

Your Event Espresso EE3 Personal License will expire on: 05/23/2015. In order to continue receiving support and software updates, you must renew your license.

Hi,
The EE licences are for one year of Support and Updates.
If you do not renew your licence, then support will stop and perhaps more importantly so will updates.
The plugin will still function.
That being said, if there is a change in WordPress that affects the plugin (rare, but it does happen) then it may cause the plugin to break.
While EE3 is getting limited feature updates, we do recommend staying up to date in case of bug and security fixes.
