I’m in the process of working on a client website that is using Event Espresso for online event registration and payment. They were previously using Paypal IPN, and now would like to migrate to another payment gateway. PCI compliance is a huge issue and I would like to make sure i don’t have to worry about it too much.
My question- I’m thinking about recommending using Stripe because of the ease of use and integration. On the Stripe website, it says that if you use either stripe.js or checkout, along with an ssl, you should be just fine.
Does EE use stripe.js or checkout if I activate the payment method and keys? I do not want to worry about the compliance part at all. My plugin is version 3.1.36.5.P
How about 2Checkout? It seems like this may be a better solution.
Basically, I’m just looking for a solution that does not involve Paypal, as my client is against using them.
Overall, I would like a seamless user experience, but not have to worry about the compliance issues.. mijireh is out of the question because we would get double billed..
Basically any of the gateways that take the credit card number on your site, what we call an on-site gateway, will need an ssl cert set up on your site to be PCI compliant, so that the thank-you page can load with https. Any of the gateways that take you off to the gateway provider’s site, like 2checkout or authnet SIM, which we call off-site, will not need an ssl cert set up on your site. If you go here: https://eventespresso.com/features/payment-options/ and click on the EE3 Gateways tab, it will list out all the gateways and whether they are on-site or off-site.
