Hi,
Thanks for your interest in Event Espresso.
-I want to sell etickets online (design my own tickets), payment goes through Ideal. Are there extra add-ons needed for payment server
providers?
Both versions allow for tickets to be created, though EE4’s ticketing addon is still in Beta (access is provided to Beta versions when you have a valid licence for that product).
EE3 supports Ideal by Mollie by default
EE4 does not as yet support the Ideal gateway.
-Verify at the door if the ticket is valid
Yes via scanning the ticket or checking via the admin area of the plugin.
–Is your app(android/iphone) the only possibility to verify a valid ticket
–Or can I use a barcode scanner at the door/are there other possibilities?
For EE3 using the mobile app is the only way to scan.
EE4 supports barcode scanning (but not yet mobile scanning).
I have also a few underlying questions (for multiple events):
-Is it possible to sell etickets for multiple events?
I assume you mean at the same time (cart purchase)? If so, then EE3 allows this via the Multiple Event Registration addon. EE4 does not yet allow this but it is in the pipeline.
–When verifying tickets, can this app distinguish multiple tickets for every event? Is it possible to give the validation app
restrictions for certain events?
The app works by scanning the ticket for an ID. If the ID exists it will increment the checked in people by one, so long as the number of checked in people does not exceed the number of tickets purchased.
Is that what you mean?
Last but not least, a security question.
Everything is possible to hack, but does this system prevend hacking? Is the database with tickets hosted at my own hosting, or are you providing the hosting?
In other words if my WordPress environment is secure, is this ticketing system also secure?
We try our hardest to make our software as resilient to hacking and unauthorized access as possible. If there is a security issue we will resolve it ASAP. As far as we are aware there are no known security holes in our software.
The software is hosted on your own server (it is a WordPress plugin, so a WordPress website is required). We do not provide the hosting for it.
