I am an experienced WordPress themer and would like to customize the event list and event detail page. It seems the only way in the Lite version is to modify the CSS, but to get other fields to display that aren’t there is not possible. Is that correct? Also the documentation with the Lite version explains how to make Custom post types for events. Is that only a paid feature?
I am guessing I would at minimum have to subscribe to the $89.95 version of Event Espresso and additionally purchase the Custom Files add on to be able to customize any information is presented. Is that correct? Or are there some things I can tweak without upgrading?
The ‘Lite’ version is customisable as well, if you look in the plugin directories for a folder claled tempplates, you can copy those (ideally just the ones you want to tchnage) over to uploads/espresso/templates and modify them there.
Note that some files are paired and require both files copying over even if you are only editing one of them
event_list
event_list_ display
registration_page
registration_page_display
Custom post types is for premium version only yes.
The Custom Files add on isnt required to customise EE, but it has useful extra files like tables etc.
Thanks Dean. That helps a lot.
Many of these things are not clear in the UI, with many things appearing in the Lite version that don’t apply to the Lite version. For instance I was going crazy wondering why email confirmations were not working, until I realized that they are a Pro feature.
