Hi,

I thought this might be easier, but I don’t see anywhere that lets me adjust what comes gets put in the From and the Subject lines in the registrants confirmation email. We use per Event confirmation templates that we’ve customized. What’s the best method of doing this on a per Event basis?

Hi Deborah,

The subject line can’t be changed unless you use the Email Manager to create an email template and assign it to an event.

We have built a much better messaging system into 4.0 that allows a greater flexibility when it comes to emails.

Quick question, can the email templates be assigned to a venue rather than an event?

Sorry, there is no provision built in to allow emails to be assigned to a venue.
If your server allows the “Fancy email headers” option in EE->General Settings->Email Settings (it will break email with some servers, so we allow it to be turned off), then the outgoing ‘From:’ will be the organization name followed by the organization contact email address. You can customize this, but it takes a little php editing. Then function event_espresso_send_email can be found in includes/functions/email.php on line 554. It is an overridable function, so if you copy that function to one of the following:
1 – Your theme’s functions.php file. It may get overwritten the next time you update your theme.
2 – The EE custom files add-on in the custom_functions.php file.
3 – Use this blank plugin to hold the custom function.
then modify it, then EE will use your customized version of that function, rather than the built-in one.

Thank’s Sidney, I will try a few things you suggested. I need to confirm with the clients IT that they can use the fancy email headers.
