im using Version 3.1.36.5.P and as far as i can tell it has never sent confirmation emails to the attendees. is this a bug that will be fixed upon upgrade? and when i go to the download page im not sure which one i should be installing. please advise

Confirmation emails should be going out – there is no bug we are aware of.
There are a couple of things you can check:
* The general settings, to make sure payment confirmation emails are marked to go out.
* Check that general emails are going out from your site by using the Email Check plugin
* Use the WP SMTP Mail plugin or a service such as Mandrill to take over email sending (these are used because we use the default WP mail system and some servers seem to dislike sending out mails/too many mails via that system).
The latest version of EE3 is 3.1.36.6. If you are looking to swap over to EE4, please check out this differences chart so you are aware of what features/plugins are available as EE4 is still new – https://eventespresso.com/differences-ee4-ee3/
