Hi all,

Is anyone successfully using Object Caching from W3 Total Cache or similar with Event Espresso 4?

I have setup the EE pages as excluded from the Page Cache, however there must be an object which I need to add to the object cache exclusions.

With object caching turned on I get the ‘No events in the event queue’ error. As soon as I turn it off it works OK.

Cheers
James

Hi James,

On my test sites, enabling object cache did not interfere with the events. In theory it could be a combination of different settings causing it.

You could try excluding the $post object.

Thanks Dean, strange one. Tried excluding post, didn’t seem to help.
I’ve just switched to Database cache instead of object cache and that seems to be working.

I tried excluding the following objects with no luck
ee_event
ee_session_settings
ee_espresso_activation
post

Like you say it must be a combination of settings or configuration, the site is behind a Varnish cache hosted by LightningBase.
Database cache will be fine..

Hi,

Varnish might be contributing as well, I’ve seen a few (different) issues crop up. It seems to be fairly aggressive.

Seems strange that it is only affecting the object cache, but without tweaking and fiddling with the settings, it’s probably going to be hard to track down.
