Hi!

I have two problems which makes my client feel updating events is very difficult.

First, when I use “automatic” option in recurring events manager I’m not able to add one hole week and choose the days within that week, I must add the eighth date before all the chosen dates appear. In general it’s always one week of events that is added at the time and the days should be able to be selected.

As a second problem; if I use “manual” option, I’m not able to update the event time in one event or “this and all upcoming events”.

So either way there’s a problem, both manual and automatic.

Thanks in advance,

Hei Kristiina,

Regarding the whole week, you can select the first event date (it should coincide with Event Start Date earlier in the event edit screen) andf then the last day.

For example – http://d.pr/i/2MjP – here I selected the monday 22/07/13 as the first date and the Sunday 28/07/13 as the end date which is one week. As you can see the automatic process selects the correct days.

The event time is a known issue, we have an outstanding ticket in relation to this. I cannot confirm when this will be resolved.

Hi!

Until the issue with manual -setting has been fixed the automatic option would be the best for us to use. But why does this happen:

I choose a whole week starting from friday and ending next thursday, but when I choose the days, I only get events for Friday and Saturday: http://www.kinghill.fi/wp-content/uploads/screenshot.png
The Event start date is the same as chosen earlier in the screen.

…To be clear I chose all the days in that week, but eventually got events only for those two days.

Hei Kristiina,

You have the Event Repeats setting set to weekly. Try changing it to daily and you will see every day appear.

Hi!

I need to be able to select days within the week; if I choose daily I won’t be able to do that.

This is a site of a movie theatre, which adds events weekly; the days and times are usually different. The automatic function would be quite ok to use if I could just select the weekdays and then edit event time for the first new event and save as “this and all upcoming events”.

Is is so that weekly-function doesn’t understand if the week starts from Friday and ends on Thursday? That’s how the weeks are handled in this theatre. If I add the eight day (another Friday) all the missing days appear.

Hi,

I do agree with you it would be handy to have a selection of days in the automatic section. Perhaps we will include this in future versions, I will certainly note the idea down.

The weekly function will produce an event that is repeated every 7 days, within the time period you have set, so if its 1st August to 31st August and the day to repeat on is a Monday, you will see 4 occurrences of the event.

Swap that day to a Thursday and you will see 5 as there are 5 Thursdays in August this year.
