Hi All,

We have Event Expresso version 4.1.4 reg . We are using Paypal payments pro and are based in Australia.

Paypal have told us that our cart is treating Australian clients as if they are international ones and so we are being charged extra fees (and they are alot!).Paypal have suggested we change the country setting on the cart.

We have gone to the event expresso payments section and looked at changing the country settings, but there only seems to be currency settings, which have always been set to AUD (Australian dollar).

Can you help?

Regards,
Jacqui

Hi Jacqui,

This could be a couple of things, can I get a link to your event registration page please? I want to see if the payment form is showing Australia as an option.

Hi,

Sorry I’m a little confused, you said you are using EE 4.1.4, but the site you linked is using EE 3.1.32.2.

Please can you clarify what’s happening as the resolution will be dependant upon version.

Huge apologies (and great embarrassment!). The version we are using is in fact 3.1.32.2.P.

Jacqui

Hi J, would you feel comfortable making a couple edits to the code to try to get it working for you? If not, you can send login credentials by filling out the form here. Be sure to include ftp (or ssh) credentials, as we would need them to make the changes.

Thanks Sidney. I’d be pretty nervous about making the changes myself, so I filled out the form 🙂 Regards, Jacqui

Hi,

Thanks for the login details. I have edited the file for you so now it should correctly send Australia to PayPal.

Thanks Dean. I have put a transaction through and it looks like paypal is still charging at the higher amount. Do we need to look at this further, or should I take it up with paypal first and let you know? Regards, Jacqui

Can you clarify with PayPal? The system should be seeing Australia (it’s pulled from the Organization Settings, I check it was set).
