Hello,

I know there are a few threads talking about changing words. I have managed to change the wording from the point of clicking “Register” against an event – however I am wanting the change the instances of the word EVENT to COURSE. I have tried using the quick localization plug in which didn’t work (although maybe I haven’t done it properly – see below)
quick localization

I am comfortable editing the functions.php code as I did to get the other words to change – however I struggled to find the code to kick it off?

I have seen posts on using POedit – some people say it doesn’t work and I would be the least comfortable in trying to use this.

Any advice would be appreciated (sorry for my rookieness with coding, I am getting there!)

Hi,

The Quick Localisation plugin requires a “domain” which should be labelled “text domain” to avoid confusion but there you go.

The domain you need is event_espresso

I like using Poedit but it’s not for everyone. This guide is about poedit but also includes a PHP option as well: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-change-wording-with-poedit/

Please note that in EE4 some strings are broken down into parts (Proceed to Payment is one example: “proceed to” and “payment”), also some do use HTML entities that aren’t clear from the front end, so you may need to check the files (or give us a shout) if you run into strings that can’t be translated.
