Someone registers and uses a Promotion Code (say, 10%), then pays the remainder with Paypal.
Then, they ask me to change to a different event which has the same cost.
I use the Change Event/Ticket Selection workflow to assign them to the new event. Event Espresso marks them as PENDING and sends associated emails. I have to manually go back in and approve them, and choose to have the proper emails sent again.
This only happens when a promotion exists on the registration. Evidently, the system does not transfer promotion codes to the new registration, yet it DOES transfer the Paypal payment.
This behavior is kind of a minor issue, but can be prone to error (forgetting to re-approve the registration) and has occasionally been confusing to my customers. Any suggestions on a better way to handle this?
…I could see this as intended behavior as it would be overkill for the system to reinforce promotion code rules, but the net effect is to ignore the promotion code entirely. I wonder if that’s the best way for such codes to be handled…
