I’m developing a site for an art center. The calendar is a handy tool for seeing what classes are available and for registration (obviously). But some classes must be paid for at the event and cannot be pre-sold. I’d still like to list things in the calendar that are like this, and possibly gallery openings, which are free to attend. Is it possible to do this with the calendar tool? It seems I always have to have a “registration time” specified.

Hi Linda,

Registration and event dates/times are always required, but you can definitely use the calendar for free events and with a simple setting change use the calendar for pay on the door events.

With the pay on the door, if no registration is required here is what I would do:

Set up an event as normal.
Add in the registration dates from now until the event ends.
Add in the start end/dates as normal
Add in the price they need to pay
Add in a note on the description that online registration isn’t available and to pay on the door (I’m sure you can word that better than I)
Change the setting “Display registration form?” to no (this in on the right hand side in the event editor.
