The Calender does not show unless I fiddle with week/month view back/forward and the today button.
I tested it with another theme, same result.
What could be the problem?

Hi Joost,
Thanks for the link.
It looks like there is a CSS clash between the EE calendar and the eventBooking Pro plugin, as it looks liek both are using FullCalendar as a basis.
Adding the following CSS to your themes style.css or to a plugin such as My Custom CSS should resolve it:
#espresso_calendar .fc-content>div { display: block; }
