Unfortunately this cry for help is going to be a little vague – but I am hoping that someone has experienced the same problem.
We are receiving complaints that customers cannot book events but i can visit the site and book and pay with no problem.
I am using chrome on an older machine running XP but one unhappy detailed the following “I was using google chrome on W7 64bt and the ‘Captcha’ (human verification code) failed to load so could not continue the payment.”
I have not even seen a captcha screen and am somewhat confused…. (but then again as you will see from the above i am not a techie)
What has likely happened is you have enable the recaptcha, but not entered in an API key.
As such for LOGGED OUT users, the recapthca breaks the page because the key isn’t set, but because you are logged IN, you don’t see the recaptcha at all because it doesn’t show for logged in users.
To resolve:
Go to the Event Espresso General Settings and either add in a recaptcha API key, or disable the recaptcha system.
Dean, many thanks – such a simple solution to such a frustrating problem.
I have taken the option to simply remove the capcha thingy as it is not likely to cause issues.
Phil
