Using a barcode scanner on an Andriod device, {Both a Kindle FIRE HD and a standard Andriod} we are getting an odd behavior.

Every now and then the scan will comeback with an error saying that registration code is invalid or cannot be found. However, if we scan the barcode again, it will work.

Trying the QR code, we are getting the same behavior. It is very frustrating to troubleshoot when it isn’t consistent. On a laptop running Windows 10 and two iMacs, we are not seeing this behavior, it works 100% of the time.

Looking at what the scanner is sending via a notepad app, the ticket IDs match say for an upper case letter where a lower case letter is on the ticket. We are trying it on a WiFi and even with a strong signal {standing right net to the box} we are seeing this behavior on the device.

If it helps, we are using a password protected page with the barcode scanning shortcode for security reasons. Any ideas of how we can fix this? We have an even coming up soon and need to working 100% so the customers will comeback.

We have also tried an iPad with even worse results, the enter key isn’t being recognized when a barcode is scanned, the cursor just sits there flashing after the scan, we have to press the GO button and then click back on the box to scan the next ticket…not something that is time saving. We have also seen this behavior on the Android devices from time to time, but not very often.
