Bar Code Scanner not working

I am using a motorola ls2208 scanner. Nothing happens when scanning the ticket. If I scan other bar codes it will put the number in the display. So I think the scanner and espresso work, I just dont think the bar code on the ticket is working? The event is tomorrow and I did not anticipate this to be a problem, can you help?

Hi,

Are you just using the default barcode on the tickets or have you modified the barcode type?

If you are using the default, then is should be Code93. By default your scanner should pick that up (according to the manual). There is mention of the possibility that codes can be disabled* but nothing I could see about how to check what’s on this list or even how to disable/re-enable things.

I would suggest testing the scanner with a ticket that uses a different code type, by modifying the ticket or a copy of it so that the barcode shortcode reads: [BARCODE_* w=1 h=70 fsize=18 bgcolor=#fff color=#000 type=code128] (other codes include code93 and code39).

Obviously that won’t fix the issue at hand but it will help us get a sense of whether it’s a code type not functioning with the scanner or something else.

I would also suggest checking your browser developer tools (right click, inspect element) console area, to see if any JavaScript errors come up.
