Right now this can only be done manually. To do so, go to the event overview page, find the correct event and on the right click the email icon.
I am hoping that the new messaging system will be able to have auto scheduled emails in the future but to my knowledge this isnt in any of our plans as yet.
The alternative is to export the attendees to spreadsheet, and import the email addresses into your own autoresponder system such as Mailchimp or Aweber and email via that.
