Hello,

In the users’ payment process I am getting the following error:
The following errors have occurred.
(99) This transaction cannot be accepted.

It shows after I click the “Pay by Credit Card” payment option and it shows on this url https://secure.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll

It seems others had this issue on the old forum (see here: https://eventespresso.com/forums/2011/08/authorize-net-tutorial/)

But I’ve had no luck with their solutions.

I am just setting this up for the first time.  Maybe I am missing something.  Please help. 🙂

WP Version: 3.5.1
EE version: 3.1.31.1
New install
Reg page: http://northstarschool.org/event-registration/

Thanks!

Zachary

Hello Zachary,

Can you check that you Authorize.net details are correct in the Payment Settings page – you may need to check your authorize.net account for the correct details.

You can see the error here – https://support.authorize.net/authkb/index?page=content&id=A569&actp=LIST

Hi Dean,

Thanks for the reply.  I am familiar with the Authorize.net help page and have gone through it pretty thoroughly.  I have checked and checked and checked again that I have all those details right.  I  created the new transaction keys, while disabling the old ones several times.  All to no avail.

I also have tested it after disabling every other plug-in and switching to a default theme, to no avail.  🙁

Any other suggestions?

To be clearer:  I was only able to work on suggestion #1 from that Authorize.net support page.  Items 2, 3, and 4 were far too advanced for me, and I assumed they are already done in EE’s code properly.

Hi,

Sorry, yes just number 1 the rest is all developer related. The main thing was to check that all the keys etc were correct.

Is it possible to get your login details in order to look into this?

If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

NOTE: login details need to be Admin level.

Hey

Your Transaction Key had a space at the front, so in Authorize.nets eyes it was the wrong transaction key.

Registration goes to Auth net now.

Wow. Bonehead error. So sorry about that. Thank you!

So I see it goes to the Authorize.net checkout page now.

Shouldn’t the payment process happen on my site though (entering card details, etc.)? I thought EE could do that. Or maybe I have things configured wrong.

Any advice?

Something like this on the EE test drive:

Hey,

No worries, sometimes it just needs another set of eyes.

Authorize.net has two gateways, AIM and SIM.

SIM is an “off site” gateway in that it takes the user to the authorize.net. AIM is an onsite gateway where card details are taken on your site (an SSL certificate will be required).

Other gateways are similar, some are onsite and some offsite.

Thanks for the clarification.

I’d like to do the AIM method.  How can i do that?

Oops. Missed the obvious again. There are two Authorize.net settings locations (AIM and SIM).

It is working now. Thanks so much for your help!
