Hi,
A strange question perhaps but here it goes: I’m working on a site for a client. This client will have to work with EE so he has been made ‘admin’ in the WordPress admin area. However, I would really like to restrict his access to certain elements of EE, namely Event Overview, Location Manager and Email manager. I tried making him ‘editor’ but that will restrict EE altogether. Restricting ‘admin’ permissions to parts of EE using a plugin like ‘Adminimize’ won’t stick. Do you know a way to accomplish this

Thanks!

Hi,

I believe you are using EE3, correct?

If so, then you could use the Roles and Permissions Basic addon. This will give a user admin access to just EE, and you can limit what elements of EE you want them to access, e.g. you could stop them from accessing Settings.

Please note the plugin only provides/blocks access on a menu level, so for example you can block access to the event overview, but you cannot just block access to creating events or viewing attendees, as these are all lumped together with Event Overview.

You can also modify the capabilities of that role to allow access to other areas of WordPress.

Thanks. I found a plugin (User Admin Simplifier) that does the trick but I’ll sure check out your add-on.
