Hi,
first I really like your product, looks well developed and experienced πŸ˜‰

I have a client who wants to make a website where people can register and organize birthday presents together. My questions for this are:

1. is it possible to make secret events, so that just people with the link can see it?
3. is there a add-on that you can invite friends from Facebook? or to send it via email directly on the website to people?
2. can you manage unregistered people also, who got this link?
3. can you put more options to choose in the events?
4. are there possibilities included for sms or email reminders?
5. can you print lists of attendees? is there a possibility to print the whole event to share it via printed out copies?

Last question would be, do you think it is possible with your plugin, to manage such a idea, for managing big birthday presents or for carpools to manage to the location? I know its a personal opinion but would be nice to hear an honest answer πŸ˜‰

thanks for your answers in advance!

best regards,
Daniel

1. Sort of. You can make the event Private (password protected) in EE4. You could also use shortcodes to list your events, and list them by Category. This way you could have a General category and a Secret category and just show the ones from General. The events would still all be accessible from /events/ archive though.

2. Facebook: not currently. Email: not via the plugin. You could set up a mailing list though. Something like Aweber or Mailchimp, get them to enter their email address and the first (well second, as the first is the confirmation email) email they get can have the link in it. Added bonus is you build a list of targeted people!

3. No. If the plugin doesn’t know they exist (i.e. are not registered) it cannot manage them.

4. SMS is not currently available. Emails can be sent out to users registered to an event. No scheduling currently.

5. Attendees can be exported to spreadsheet which can then be edited and printed out. Printing the whole event sounds like creation of a flyer based off the website event: You can print it out but it will look like a printed out web page. I would recommend hiring a designer to make something more viable for the offline flyers.

do you think it is possible with your plugin, to manage such a idea, for managing big birthday presents or for carpools to manage to the location?

Possible? Yes, EE has been used for many varied projects, including things that we never thought it would be used for such as Flea Markets.

That being said, I personally do not think that EE is the best choice for your particular needs – some of the features you want are missing and EE is geared more for event registration than anything else. You will most probably need other plugins, which is not unusual, but you will also likely need custom development doing as well.

I would suggest giving EE4 a test drive over at http://demoee.org that way you can get a better idea for yourself whether the plugin meets your needs or not.
