Hi, I have a couple of questions about the Ticketing Add-on:
Thanks, Nick |
Hello Nick. 1) The only way to do that is to generate an extra shortcode in the ticketing addon. 2) No only the primary attendee will be emailed. For group purchases the QR code on the tickets is the same, and it contains the information for the number of tickets, so if 3 people are in the group a single ticket can be scanned 3 times before rejecting the ticket. |

Thanks Dean. I am still a little confused though. I read a post on the previous EE forum (which I can’t find now), which suggested that all attendees were emailed if the email addresses for additional attendees was required, which they are on my setup. The reason for my confusion is that after I got your reply I checked an Event Registration Notification email I received for a group booking and it contained a separate download link for each of the tickets, and each ticket has a different QR code. Hi Nick, I just retested this to make sure I’m not going nuts and I only received one email, and the ticket should be the same QR code just with extra numbers in the code. Don’t forget that the previous forum, though full of good information, also contains some out of date info. Have you checked your confirmation email either in the event or in the email manager or in the general settings (depending on where you have set it) to make sure it is correct and not included additional shortcodes? |
Thanks Dean. I am not sure what shortcode is generating the ticket download links in the Event Registration Notification email that I receive as the administrator. Perhaps it is the same shortcode as in the email that the primary attendee receives, i.e. [ticket_link], but as I am not receiving these emails I don’t know what this shortcode actually outputs. When I say that the QR codes are different, what I mean is that the image for the code looks different. I am not sure what you mean by “just with extra numbers in the code” |
Hi Nick Yes it will be the [ticket_link] and it outputs: Download/Print Ticket (attendee name) as a link to a page on your site (generated by the plugin). I would love to see one of these emails, is there an event I can sign up for so we can test it? The QR codes are different images? OK. What I mean by extra numbers is perhaps best explained if you use a standard QR code reader to view one. IT will show some textual information and one of these is the attendee count. So if you have a group the QR code will be the same but with a higher attendee count. |

Hi Dean, Here is an example of what I am talking about. Two people booked onto an event, and in the confirmation email I received about this I got the following: Tickets Purchased (2): As you can see the two QR codes are different. You can book onto an event via this page to test out: http://openparadigmproject.com/event-registration/?ee=1 Thanks, Nick |

Hi Nick, Sorry for the confusion, yep you are correct I must have missed this update myself. When using the MER plugin the tickets are separated out and also does email the attendees. Pre .28 it didnt do this. |
Ah, OK. By this you mean that each attendee will get their own ticket emailed to them, i.e. primary attendees and secondary attendees, and that each ticket is unique and will check in only person at the event? Regarding the other point from my original post – how would I go about generating an additional shortcode so that each ticket only shows the amount for that specific ticket rather than the amount for the entire booking? |
Yes correct, though the purchaser gets all the tickets. Regarding the amount for the specific ticket, you would need to create a shortcode in the ticketing files. It is a bit more than we can supply via support, but I will add the feature request to the system |
