How is Event Espresso 4 different than Event Espresso 3?
Event Espresso 3 (EE3) is our flagship event registration product, that was released in 2009. Event Espresso 4 (EE3) is a completely rewritten version of Event Espresso. While we are currently migrating all of the features from EE3 to EE4, it is our latest and greatest system. However, EE4 is very different from EE3 in more ways than we can probably list/describe/remember — so you’re going to want to check out the EE4 demo and EE3 demo. In general there are several important changes to the EE4 plugin, such as features, user interface, data structure, coding method and price.
Please note that no future development (except for bugs and unreleased features) will be done to EE3. However, support for EE3 will be an ongoing effort until we feel EE4 feature development has outpaced EE3. At that time (~2 years) we will begin phasing out support for EE3 and focusing our support and development efforts solely on EE4.

What is the best support license for me?
The best option depends on your needs for your project. We recommend that you take a look at the EE4 to EE3 feature comparison and/or view the EE4 FAQ page. Do you offer non-profit discounts?
We encourage non-profit organizations to apply for discount pricing by completing our non-profit application form.

What is Event Espresso?
Will Event Espresso work on my server?
We have a plugin available that will check your server for the minimum requirements.
Do you support WordPress multisite?
WordPress multisite brings some complexity that can lead to some challenges. As such we cannot support multisite, but we'll offer recommendations wherever we can. Multisite compatibility is much better with EE4 than EE3. If you're unsure about using multisite then please read this article.
What types of payment do you accept?
We currently accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and PayPal. A PayPal account is not required to pay via PayPal. We accept payments online and only in certain circumstances will we accept a purchase order, accept a check, or take any orders over the phone.
Can I purchase now and upgrade later?
Yes, you can purchase a higher license at any time. Upgrading will give you access to additional add-ons, documentation, and support plus extend your license for an additional 12 months beyond your original expiration date. The sooner you upgrade the sooner you get all the new resources at a discount for 24 cumulative months. We do not offer discounts on upgrades as an additional 12 months of support is already included.
Can I purchase a license and downgrade later?
Yes, you can downgrade your support license. However, you will lose access to add-ons that you have purchased that are not part of the package you are downgrading from.
How many licenses can I buy with my account?
Users who purchased the Personal or Business license can purchase one license at a time. Developer licenses come with access to all our products for five sites or as many support licenses as they purchase.
How many websites can I install Event Espresso on?
Your support license with Event Espresso allows you to receive support, documentation, and upgrades (including one-click upgrades from your WordPress dashboard) on one WordPress installation. If you need support for additional sites, then we recommend purchasing another license with a separate EventEspresso.com account or upgrading to the Developer support license.
Can I install on a development site?
One-click upgrades will only work on one installation of WordPress per license key, so you will want to choose which site you want to use your license on for one-click upgrades. If this is a development or test site, then please DO NOT enter your Support License Key. Save it for the live /production site, otherwise you will unnecessarily run into issues with needing to have your support license key reset. If you need more than one license key we recommend purchasing the developer license or contacting us to try and arrange two license keys on your account.
Do you offer refunds?
We generally do not offer refunds as we offer non-tangible, irrevocable, digital goods and services and provide several methods to evaluate our products. You can download Event Espresso 3 Lite for free, download Event Espresso 4 Decaf for free, post to the Pre-sales support forum, take a free EE3 Test-drive and even Test drive Event Espresso 4. Are the support licenses good for a lifetime?
Each support license is active for 12 months from the date of your purchase. You can renew your license for another year at a substantial discount.
How much does it cost to renew my license?
The renewal price is based upon the current retail price of the package (support license) you purchased. Generally, personal license holders receive 25% off, Business license users receive 35% off and Developer license users receive 50% off the retail price. These discounts also apply to additional add-ons that are purchased outside of a standard package. Early or on-time renewals will receive this significant discount.
What do I get for renewing my support license key?
Renewing your license provides an peace of mind with an additional year of access to your current Event Espresso files, support, our documentation, and software updates to ensure WordPress compatibility as well as great new features and enhancements.
When do I have to renew?
Your support license for Event Espresso is active for 12 months from the date you purchase a package (e.g. Personal, Business or Developer). In most cases, addon licenses are matched to the same date you purchased/renewed Event Espresso.
Will my events stop working if my support license expires?
If your license expires, your forms and website will still work just fine but you won't have access to product updates, new add-ons, or the excellent product support or documentation that we provide as a service.
Will Event Espresso work on a WordPress.com site?
No, unfortunately WordPress.com does not allow you to install any plugins.
Will Event Espresso work with Drupal, Joomla, or Expression Engine sites?
Not yet. Event Espresso is currently available for WordPress.
Which web browsers work with Event Espresso?
Event Espresso has been tested with the most current versions Internet Explorer (Windows only), Firefox, Safari, Chrome on the Windows PC and Mac OSX platforms. Event Espresso may function just as well in older or other, less popular browsers, but we only support those listed previously. For more information, please see our supported web browsers page.
