Event Espresso which includes PayPal Express Checkout is a plugin for WordPress so you’ll need a website running WordPress to use Event Espresso. If you don’t currently have a website, then then check out Event Smart where you can use event registration software with PayPal to get event registrations from your attendees.
How can I set up a recurring payment, payment plan, or a subscription through PayPal?
Recurring payments, payment plans, or subscriptions are not currently supported in the PayPal Express Checkout payment gateway. When an attendee pays for their event registrations with PayPal, they pay up front so, you receive your funds right away.
When I refund a payment, does it also refund through PayPal?
Refunds in Event Espresso 4 are currently a two-step process. First, apply the refund through the transaction details screen of Event Espresso in your WP-admin (WP dashboard). Then log in to your PayPal merchant account and process the refund.
Is an SSL certificate needed for PayPal?
A dedicated SSL certificate is recommended if you are accepting payments on your website.
Do I need to be PCI compliant?
Compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) is required if you are processing, storing, or transmitting credit card data. Event Espresso recommends using a dedicated SSL certificate on your website.
